Follow the Fun

How it works

1. 1

   First, hold the colorful toy about 8-12 inches from your child's face. Keep it still for a moment and say something like, 'Look your child, see the toy?' Watch your child's eyes. Do they look toward the toy?

   Now, slowly move the toy from side to side, like a gentle pendulum. Move it about 6 inches to the left, pause, then 6 inches to the right. Say, 'Can you follow it?' Watch your child's eyes. Do they track the toy's movement?

3. 3

   Next, let's try up and down. Slowly move the toy upward toward the ceiling, then down toward your child's toes. Say, 'Up and down we go!' Watch your child's eyes. Do they follow the vertical movement?

4. 4

   Now let's make it fun! Move the toy in a slow circle or figure-eight pattern. Say, 'Watch it go around and around!' Watch your child's eyes. Do they follow the circular motion?
