Fruity Senses Exploration
Parent introduces different fruits for baby to explore through touch, smell, and taste, modeling healthy eating habits while stimulating multiple senses. The agent coaches the parent to observe sensory curiosity, food acceptance, and social imitation during this sensory-rich mealtime interaction.

What you'll need
Baby seated securely at table or in high chair. Have 2-3 different fruits prepared (soft, ripe, cut into baby-safe pieces). Examples: banana slices, ripe pear pieces, avocado chunks. Have a damp cloth nearby for cleanup. Best done when baby is alert but not overly hungry.
How it works
- 1~40s
Start by placing a piece of banana in front of your child. Let them touch it first — don't offer it to eat yet. Watch how they explores it with their hands. Does your child squish it, poke it, pick it up? Does they bring it close to their face to smell it? Tell me what you notice about their sensory curiosity.
Watch for: Baby explores fruit using multiple senses — touching, smelling, looking closely — showing natural curiosity about new objects.
- 2~35s
Now take a small piece of the same fruit and eat it yourself with obvious enjoyment. Say 'Mmm, banana! So yummy!' Then offer a piece to your child. Watch closely — does they put it in their mouth? Does they imitate your 'mmm' sound or facial expression? Remember, no pressure if they doesn't eat it — just observe their response to your modeling.
Watch for: Baby imitates parent's eating action or expression after watching parent eat the fruit.
- 3~45s
Let's try a different fruit now — maybe the pear. Place it next to the banana so your child can see both. Watch their reaction to having choices. Does they reach for one over the other? Does they seem more willing to taste the new fruit after our positive experience with the first? Tell me about their food acceptance and preferences.
Watch for: Baby shows willingness to explore or taste a new food after positive modeling and exposure.
