Clap and Copy Game
Parent plays simple hand games — clapping, rubbing hands, tapping surfaces — and invites baby to watch and imitate. The agent coaches the parent to observe social engagement, imitation attempts, and joyful responses during interactive play.

What you'll need
Baby seated securely (on floor, in high chair, or on parent's lap) facing parent. No materials needed. Baby should be in a playful, alert mood.
How it works
- 1~30s
Start by clapping your hands together with a big smile. Clap slowly — clap, clap, clap — and say 'your child, can you clap too?' Then take their little hands and gently help them clap them together. After a few guided claps, let go and see if your child tries on their own. Does they bring their hands together? Does they watch your hands and try to copy? Tell me what you see.
Watch for: Baby repeats an action (like clapping) to get parent's attention or reaction, showing social motivation.

Now let's make it silly! Try rubbing your hands together fast and making a funny sound — 'brrrr!' — or bang your hands on the surface with a dramatic 'boom!' Make a big surprised face after each one. We want to see if your child laughs out loud. Does they giggle, squeal, or belly laugh when you do something funny or surprising? Tell me about their reaction.
Watch for: Baby laughs out loud in response to playful social interaction.

For our last game, try a few different hand actions in a row — clap, then wave, then tap the surface. See if your child tries to copy any of them. Does they initiate any actions of their own? Maybe they bangs the table or reaches for your hands. Does your child seem to enjoy playing with you — making eye contact, smiling, staying engaged? Tell me how they is interacting with you.
Watch for: Baby engages in interactive play with parent — showing enjoyment, reciprocity, and social engagement.
