How it works

  1. 1~30s

Alright, let's get started! Begin this activity by placing your baby on a flat surface where you can change his or her diaper. Continue by taking off his or her clothes and then softly tickling his or her tummy. Observe your baby's reactions. you, watch your child closely — I'd love to hear what you notice about how they responds.

Watch for: Baby lift their arms to be carried.

  2. 2~30s

Great, now let's try the next part. If he or she laughs or smiles, continue. However, if your baby looks uncomfortable or complains, it's best to switch to soft caresses. Now, talk to your little one and explain that you're going to change his or her diaper. Tell me what your child does — any reaction counts!

    Watch for: Baby recogniz caregivers.

  3. 3~30s

One more thing to try. Then tickle or caress him or her again. Keep describing every step and tickling between each one until the fresh diaper is in place. With this activity, you'll foster communication and attachment between you and your baby by providing stimulation and responding according to his or her reactions. How does your child handle this? What do you see?

Watch for: Baby become calm when hearing voices they know.
