One, two and then many! III
To begin this activity, find a place to play with your child. Show her a bucket filled with building blocks. Take one out and ask your toddler “How many blocks do I have in my hand?”. See if she can answer. Then take another one and ask, “How many do I have now?”. See how your child responds. After that ask how many blocks are in the bucket. Help her say “Maaaaany, right?” and see if she understands. Give some blocks to your little one to play freely and take some for yourself. Explain that some blocks are yours and some his or hers. While playing, encourage sharing by asking first if he or she wants to play with some of yours. Continue reviewing the concepts of one, two, and many, and play for as long as he or she enjoys it.

How it works
- 1
Great! Let's start by showing your child the bucket of blocks. Take one block out and hold it in your hand. Ask your child, 'How many blocks do I have in my hand?'
- 2
Perfect! Now take a second block so you're holding two. Ask your child, 'How many blocks do I have now?'
- 3
Now let's look at the bucket with all the remaining blocks. Ask your child, 'How many blocks are in the bucket?'
- 4
Now let's play! Give some blocks to your child and take some for yourself. Explain that some blocks are yours and some are your child's. While playing, you can ask, 'Would you like to play with some of my blocks?'
