One, two and then many! II

Show your child a bucket filled with building blocks. Take one out and ask 'How many blocks do I have in my hand?' Then take another and ask again. Finally, ask how many are in the bucket, introducing the concept of 'many' when counting becomes challenging.

How it works

  1. 1

Great! Start by showing your child the bucket of blocks. Take ONE block out, hold it in your hand, and ask: 'How many blocks do I have in my hand?'

  2. 2

Perfect! Now take a SECOND block so you have two in your hand. Ask: 'How many do I have now?'

  3. 3

Now point to the bucket with all the remaining blocks and ask: 'How many blocks are in the bucket?'

  4. 4

Let's reinforce this! Give your child a few blocks to hold. You take one block and ask: 'How many do I have?' Then take a second and ask: 'How many now?'
