How it works

1. 1

   Let's start by showing your child the police officer picture. We'll paste it on the front of this card. While we do this, let's talk about what we see. Can you ask your child, 'Who is this on the front of our card?'

2. 2

   Now let's show your child the police car picture for the back of the card. As we paste it, ask 'What goes on the back? What does the police officer use?'

3. 3

   Let's try another pair. Show your child the firefighter and fire truck. Ask 'Where should the firefighter go - front or back? And where does their fire truck go?'

4. 4

   Now let's test the front/back understanding. Hold up a finished card and ask 'Can you show me the front? What's on the front? Now show me the back - what's there?'
