My Photo Album II

We'll make a photo album together! We'll look at pictures of {child_name} with friends, talk about who's in them, where they were taken, and what everyone was doing. Then we'll paste and decorate the pages.

How it works

  1. 1

First, let's set up our album. Take the cardstock paper and fold it in half twice to make a little square book. Show your child the pictures and say, 'We're going to make a photo album of you and your friends!' Then, pick one picture and hold it up. Ask, 'your child, who is in this picture with you?' Let's see if they can name their friend.

  2. 2

Great! Now let's talk about this picture a little more. Ask your child, 'Where was this picture taken? What were you and [Friend's Name] doing here?' Listen to see if they can describe the place and the activity.

  3. 3

Now, as your child is talking, listen closely to the words they uses. See if they uses pronouns like 'he,' 'she,' 'we,' or 'they' when talking about their friend and what you were doing together. For example, does they say 'We were playing' or 'He is my friend'?

  4. 4

Now for the fun creative part! Let's paste this picture onto our album page. Hand your child the tape or glue stick and help them stick it down. Then, offer the markers and stickers. Say, 'Let's decorate the page! You can draw around the picture or add stickers.' Encourage them to scribble or draw freely. This makes the album their own.
