Yo-Yo II
A fun activity where you and {child_name} practice the 'yy' sound together while coloring a yo-yo picture, helping with word acquisition and phoneme pronunciation.
Opens a guided voice session in TogetherTime.
How it works
- 1
Let's start by showing your child how to make the 'yy' sound. Bring them to the mirror so they can see their mouth. Say 'yy' slowly and clearly, and encourage your child to try.
- 2
Now let's get our yo-yo picture and crayons. As your child colors, point to the yo-yo and say the word slowly: 'yo-yo'. Emphasize the 'yy' sound at the beginning.
- 3
Let's think of other words that start with the 'yy' sound. You could say 'yes', 'yellow', or 'yummy'. Point to things around you and see if your child can try any of these words.
- 4
Let's finish our coloring and practice our favorite 'yy' words one more time. We can say 'yo-yo', 'yes', and maybe even 'yay' for finishing our picture!
