A fun object-naming game using a magazine or picture book where {child_name} leads the search and names everyday objects, with opportunities to describe colors or sizes.

How it works

    Let's start by inviting your child to look through the magazine. Say something like, 'Let's see what we can find in here! Can you turn the page?'

  2. 2

    Now, when your child points to or looks at an object, ask, 'What's that?' Give them time to name it.

  3. 3

    If your child named the object, try asking about a characteristic. Say, 'What color is it?' or 'Is it big or small?'

  4. 4

    Let's keep the momentum! Follow your child's interest to another object. Ask, 'What else do you see?'
