News Reporters III
Begin this activity by telling your toddler that you'll be pretending to be news reporters. Talk to her about the role of a news reporter, and how they talk about what's happening around the world. Now, pretend to be reporting what happened during the day. Get dressed up if you feel like it! Let your little one go first and see what she comes up with. To familiarize your toddler with time, ask her to report on how the weather was yesterday and how it might be tomorrow. Pay close attention to her speech.

How it works
- 1
Let's start by introducing the news reporter game to your child. Say something like: 'Hey your child, let's pretend to be news reporters! Reporters tell people what's happening in the world. Today, you get to be the reporter first. Can you tell me what happened in your day today?'
- 2
Now let's practice time words. Ask your child: 'Great reporting! Now let's talk about the weather. Can you report what the weather was like yesterday? And what do you think the weather might be like tomorrow?'
- 3
Let's keep the conversation going. Respond to your child's weather report and ask a follow-up question. Try: 'That's helpful weather news! Now, can you tell me more about what you did yesterday? Or what you hope to do tomorrow?'
- 4
Let's add some pretend play fun! Suggest: 'Now let's really get into character! Should we use a toy microphone or make one with our hands? What should our news station be called? You can make up a fun name!'
