How it works

Let's start our story! Say to your child: 'Once upon a time, there was a...' and let them finish that first sentence. What does they want our story to be about?

Now it's your turn, you! Add a sentence to continue the story. Then ask your child: 'What happened next?' Let's see how they builds on your idea.

Let's keep the story going! Add another sentence yourself, maybe introducing a little problem or surprise. Then ask your child: 'How does our story end?' Encourage them to finish it.

Now let's bring the story to life! Invite your child to act out the story with their stuffed animals or dolls. You can be a character too! Narrate as you play.
