Let's start by reading the first page together. As I read, I'll point out the pronouns. Look, here's a boy - we say 'he'. And here's a girl - we say 'she'. Now let me ask your child: 'What is he doing on this page?'

Now let's look at this character. you, point to the girl and ask your child: 'How about her? What is she doing?'

Now it's your child's turn to ask questions! you, show your child a picture and say: 'Ask me what I'm doing with this character.' Encourage your child to use 'you' in their question.

Let's try one more! you, point to yourself and ask your child: 'What am I doing with this book?' See if your child can use 'you' in the answer.
