How it works

  1. 1

First, let's show your child how to make the 'N' sound. Watch me: I'll touch the tip of my tongue to the roof of my mouth, part my teeth a little, and say 'nnn' like in 'nose'. Can you try, your child?

  2. 2

Now let's open our book. As we read, we'll point to every character's nose—and your nose too, your child! Can you point to your nose?

  3. 3

As we read, I'll emphasize words with the 'N' sound, like 'no', 'nap', or 'banana'. Listen for that 'nnn'. When you hear one, can you try to say it with me?

  4. 4

Let's read one more page and really celebrate every time your child says an 'N' word or makes the sound. Ready? Here we go... 'The bunny said NO!' Did you hear the 'N' in 'no'?
