Let's start by introducing verbs. Show your child the book and say, 'We're going to find action words—words that show what people or animals DO.' Open to a page with clear action. Ask: 'What do you see {character_name} doing here?'

Now let's make it physical! Choose one verb from the book, like 'jump.' Say, 'Let's ACT like the character! Can you show me how to jump?' Encourage your child to move their body.

Let's connect the verb to your child's world. Pick a verb you've practiced (like 'eat'). Ask: 'When do YOU eat? Can you say, "I eat breakfast" or "I eat apple"?'

Time to be independent detectives! Turn to a new page. Ask: 'Can you find another action word here? What is {character_name} doing?' See if your child can spot a verb without your direct hint.
