Learning about plurals III
Act as detectives finding pairs of objects around the house, emphasizing the 's' sound at the end of plural words and encouraging longer descriptive sentences.

How it works
- 1
Let's start our detective hunt! Find the first pair of objects yourself - maybe two books or two cups. Hold them up and say clearly: 'Look! Here are two [objects].' Emphasize that 's' sound at the end. Then invite your child to join the search.
- 2
Now let's find another pair together. When you discover two of something, say the plural word clearly. For example, 'I found two shoes!' or 'Look at these two chairs!' Then ask your child: 'What did we find?'
- 3
Now let's make our sentences longer. When you find a pair, describe them. For example: 'I see two red blocks' or 'These are two soft pillows.' Then ask your child: 'Can you tell me about these?'
- 4
Now let your child lead the hunt! Say: 'Your turn to be the detective! Can you find two of something and tell me what you found?'
