How it works

  1. 1

Show your child one apple and say 'one apple.' Then show two apples and say 'two apples.' Ask your child to try saying it with you.

  2. 2

Now try with a different object, like cups. Show one cup and say 'one cup,' then two cups and say 'two cups.' Encourage your child to say the words.

  3. 3

Use a third object, like blocks. Hold up one block and pause to see if your child says 'block.' Then hold up two blocks and see if they says 'blocks.'
