Rubber Band Fun!

A fun activity where {child_name} puts rubber bands on a can or pool noodle, then takes them off, followed by drinking water from a cup to strengthen hand muscles and coordination for independent drinking.

How it works

    First, let's set up. Place the can or pool noodle in front of your child with the 15 rubber bands nearby. Explain that we're going to try to put as many rubber bands on it as we can. Watch how they approaches the task.

    Now that your child has put some rubber bands on, ask them to take them off one by one. This helps with fine motor control. Notice how they uses their fingers.

  3. 3

    Now offer your child the cup of water to drink. Encourage them to hold it with just one hand. Watch how they grips and drinks.
