How it works

  1. 1

First, let's introduce the game. Show your child the stretchy bands you made from socks and a t-shirt. Say, 'We're going to see how many loops we can get on our feet!' Model how to stretch a band wide with both hands. Then ask your child to try stretching a band too.

  2. 2

Now, let's try getting a band onto a foot. Say, 'Let's see if we can get this loop onto your foot!' Model putting your own foot through a stretched band, then pulling it up to your ankle. Encourage your child to try with one of their feet.

  3. 3

Let's make it a game! Say, 'How many bands can we get on one leg?' Encourage your child to put on multiple bands, one at a time. You can model stacking them. Then, reverse it: 'Now can we take them all off, one by one?'
