How it works
- 1
First, let's set up our quest! Tell your child, 'We're going on a special mission to collect as many clothe pegs as we can. I'll hide them on your clothes while you close your eyes, then you'll be the detective who finds them all!' Once you've explained, ask your child to close their eyes tight.
- 2
Now hide 3-5 clothe pegs on your child's clothing—try shoulders, waist, pants sides, top and bottom of their shirt, and socks. As you place each, quietly say where it is (e.g., 'one on your left shoulder'). Then say, 'Open your eyes, detective! Your mission is to find all the hidden pegs.'
- 3
As your child collects pegs, encourage them to name where each was found (e.g., 'on my sock!'). Once all are found, say, 'Great quest! Now let's practice what this helps with—can you show me how you'd take off your shirt or pull down your pants like when you're getting dressed?'
