Making Our Own Buttoning Board
Create a colorful buttoning practice tool using an egg carton, buttons, and pipe cleaners to help {child_name} develop buttoning skills for independent dressing.

How it works
- 1
First, let's prepare the egg carton. Show your child how to poke two small holes in each section of the egg carton bottom. You can do this part while they watches safely.
- 2
Now let's match colors! Give your child the pipe cleaners and buttons. Ask them to match each pipe cleaner color to a button of the same color and name the colors together.
- 3
Time to thread the buttons! Show your child how to put a pipe cleaner through one hole, through the button, and back down through the other hole. Let them try with your guidance.
- 4
Now let's practice buttoning! Give your child the ribbon with slits. Show them how to 'button' the ribbon through the buttons on our board, starting from the top and working down.
