Beading Up and Down I
Tape the top of each ribbon flat against the cardboard, leaving about an inch between them. Insert 5 beads into the first ribbon and 10 into the second, then make a knot at the bottom to secure them. Make sure beads can slide up and down but stay in place. Model holding the ribbon end with one hand and moving beads with thumb and index finger of the other hand.

How it works
- 1
First, let's introduce the activity. Show your child the ribbons with beads and say, 'Look, we can make these beads go up and down!' Model moving one bead slowly. Then invite your child to try.
- 2
Now, encourage your child to move a bead all the way up or down the ribbon. Say, 'Let's make this bead go to the top!'
- 3
Now, point to the ribbon with more beads. Say, 'Look, there are more beads here! Can you move one from this ribbon?'
