How it works

  1. 1~30s

Alright, let's get started! The purpose of this activity is to develop the visual and motor coordination that your child needs in order to button his or her own clothes. Therefore, we'll be focusing on the social-emotional developmental area, specifically on self-care. To complete this activity, you will need a square of felt that's about 35-30 centimeters, at least 8 big buttons of different colors, a permanent marker and scissors. you, watch your child closely — I'd love to hear what you notice about how they responds.

Watch for: Child undo a big button on their clothes.

  2. 2~30s

Great, now let's try the next part. Trays horizontal lines on the felt square using a permanent marker and cut through them. The lines must be as long as the diameter of the buttons you'll be using. Then, have your child practice pushing the buttons through the slits. Tell me what your child does — any reaction counts!

Watch for: Child put on shoes without laces.

  3. 3~30s

One more thing to try. Checking the technique so that the task is easier. Encourage him or her to hold a felt flat so that the slit is tense and to use the index and thumb to manipulate the buttons and push them through. This will help your little one learn how to button and unbutton his or her clothes. Use Knidu to stimulate growth in your child every day. How does your child handle this? What do you see?

Watch for: Child put their pants on.
