Color Sorting Challenge
Parent guides child through a color sorting and counting game using painted pebbles. The agent coaches the parent to observe color naming accuracy, grouping by color, and early counting skills — building cognitive foundations for categorization and number sense.

What you'll need
Parent and child sitting facing each other with mixed colored pebbles/objects between them. Need: 5 yellow, 4 blue, 3 red small objects. Surface should be clear and well-lit.
How it works
- 1~45s
Let's start with color naming. Point to a yellow pebble and ask 'your child, what color is this?' Then try with a blue and a red one. Watch how they responds — does your child name the colors correctly? Even if they gets them mixed up sometimes, we're looking for their confidence and willingness to try. Tell me what happens.
Watch for: Child correctly names at least two different colors when asked.
- 2~60s
Now let's try sorting. Say 'your child, can you find all the red pebbles and put them together?' Watch how they approaches this. Does your child scan the pile and pick out just the red ones? Does they need to check each pebble's color carefully? Notice their strategy for grouping by color.
Watch for: Child groups items by color, selecting all items of one color from a mixed collection.
- 3~75s
Now for the counting challenge! Ask 'your child, can you give me 2 blue pebbles and 1 red pebble?' This combines color identification with early counting. Watch how they handles both requirements at once. Does your child remember both the color and the number? Does they count out loud or use one-to-one correspondence?
Watch for: Child selects correct number of items (up to 5) when given a verbal counting request combined with another attribute like color.
