Cartoon Body Drawing
Parent guides child through drawing a person, coloring the figure, and cutting it out with safety scissors. The agent coaches the parent to observe fine motor control in drawing body parts, coloring within boundaries, and using scissors with proper thumb positioning — building foundational writing and cutting skills through creative play.

What you'll need
Table or floor workspace with paper, drawing materials (crayons/markers), and child-safe scissors. Ensure scissors are appropriate for your child's age and ability. Have tape available for later step.
How it works
- 1~45s
Start by drawing a simple person outline together — maybe a girl or a boy. You draw the head and body, then invite your child to add the arms and legs. Watch how your child approaches this — does they draw lines that clearly connect to the body? Are the arms and legs recognizable as separate parts? Notice their pencil grip and control. Tell me what you see.
Watch for: Child draws recognizable arms and legs that connect appropriately to a person's body, showing understanding of body parts and fine motor control.
- 2~50s
Now let's color our person together. Give your child a crayon or marker and encourage them to color different parts — maybe the shirt, pants, or hair. Watch how your child handles the coloring — does they try to stay within the lines of the drawing? Notice their hand movements and pressure control. Does they switch colors intentionally for different body parts?
Watch for: Child shows emerging ability to color within boundaries of a drawing, demonstrating visual-motor coordination and controlled movements.
- 3~60s
Now for the cutting part — give your child the safety scissors and show them how to cut out our person drawing. Watch their scissor technique closely — does they hold the scissors with their thumb in the top hole? Does they use a smooth opening-and-closing motion? Notice if they turns the paper with the other hand to follow the cutting line. What do you observe?
Watch for: Child holds scissors correctly with thumb in top hole and fingers in bottom hole, using proper wrist position and cutting motion.
