Jumping Shapes Adventure
Parent creates a simple shape path on the floor for child to jump between, observing balance, coordination, and jumping skills. The agent coaches the parent to notice one-foot standing attempts, controlled forward bending, and climbing-like movements — building gross motor confidence and spatial awareness.

What you'll need
Three different colored shapes (circle, square, triangle) placed about 12 inches apart on a non-slip floor surface. Shapes should be large enough for child to stand on. Clear space around for safe jumping. Optional: a soft ball or rolled sock.
How it works
- 1~30s
Let's start by getting your child excited about the shapes! Point to the circle and say 'Can you jump to the circle?' Watch carefully as they prepares to jump — does your child bend their knees and use both arms for momentum? Notice how they lands — is it with both feet together, or does one foot land first? Tell me what you observe about their jumping technique.
Watch for: Child shows coordinated jumping preparation and landing, using arms for balance and demonstrating climbing-like motor planning.
- 2~40s
Now let's add a balance challenge. After your child lands on the circle, say 'Can you stand like a flamingo?' and demonstrate standing on one foot. You might need to offer a finger for them to hold initially. Watch closely — does your child attempt to lift one foot even briefly? How much support does they need to maintain balance? Notice if they uses their arms for stability.
Watch for: Child attempts to stand on one foot, using minimal support from parent or nearby object to maintain balance.
- 3~35s
Let's add one more movement. Place a soft ball or rolled sock in front of the square shape. Ask your child to jump to the square, then say 'Can you pick up the ball?' Watch carefully as they bends forward — does your child keep their balance while reaching down? Notice if they bends at the knees or mostly at the waist. Does they use one hand on the floor for support?
Watch for: Child bends forward to pick up object from floor while maintaining balance without falling.
