Jumping Shapes
Parent sets up colored shapes on the floor for toddler to jump between, observing balance, jumping coordination, and single-leg stability. The agent coaches the parent to notice how the child manages dynamic movement, weight shifting, and playful physical challenges — building gross motor skills and body control.

What you'll need
Three colored shapes (triangle, square, circle) taped to floor about 12 inches apart. Non-slip surface like carpet or mat. Space clear of obstacles. Parent positioned to watch and encourage.
How it works
- 1~30s
Start by inviting your child to jump onto the first shape — let's say the triangle. Crouch down to their level and say, 'Jump onto the green triangle!' Watch closely as your child prepares and jumps. Notice how they coordinates the movement — does they bend their knees, swing their arms, and land with both feet together? Tell me what you see.
Watch for: Child demonstrates coordinated forward jump with knee bend, arm swing, and two-foot landing.
- 2~40s
Now encourage your child to jump from the triangle to the square. Watch how they manages the sequence — does they pause to balance between jumps? After landing on the square, see if your child can briefly lift one foot while saying, 'Look, I'm standing on one leg!' You can offer a finger for support if needed. Notice their stability.
Watch for: Child attempts to stand on one leg briefly, possibly using minimal support from parent or nearby object.
- 3~45s
Now add a playful challenge. Place a soft ball or rolled-up sock just past the circle shape. Ask your child to jump from the square to the circle, then kick the ball! Watch how they integrates the movements — jumping, landing, shifting weight to one foot to kick. Notice their dynamic balance as they transitions between actions.
Watch for: Child maintains balance while transitioning between different movements (jumping to kicking) without falling.
