Collect the Flags Race
Parent and child race to collect colored flags spread around a room, practicing running with control and quick turns. The agent coaches the parent to observe running form, turning technique, and motor coordination — building gross motor skills through playful competition.

What you'll need
Open space clear of obstacles (living room, hallway, or yard). Prepare 8 flags: cut colored paper in half, tape a straw to each to make flag poles. Spread flags around the space with distance between them. Assign colors: one color for parent, one for child.
How it works
- 1~30s
Let's start with a practice round. Show your child how to run to a flag, pick it up, and run back. Watch their running form closely — does your child bend their elbows while running? Good runners keep their arms bent at about 90 degrees, pumping them to help with speed and balance. Tell me what you notice about your child's arm position as they runs.
Watch for: Child runs with elbows bent at approximately 90-degree angle, using arms to assist running motion.
- 2~45s
Now let's race! Spread the flags so your child needs to make sharp turns to reach them. You collect your color, your child collects their color. Watch carefully as they changes direction — does your child make quick turns without stopping or falling? Look for how they shifts their weight and uses their feet to pivot. Tell me about their turning technique.
Watch for: Child makes quick directional changes while running without stopping or losing balance.
- 3~50s
Let's do one more round, but this time focus on the whole running sequence. Watch how your child coordinates everything — the running speed, arm pumping, turning, stopping to grab flags, and starting again. Does they maintain good form throughout? Does their movement look smooth and coordinated, or are there pauses or awkward transitions?
Watch for: Child demonstrates coordinated running with integrated arm movement, turning, stopping, and starting in fluid sequence.
