Playdough Bakery
Parent and child engage in imaginative bakery play with playdough, creating pies and decorations. The agent coaches the parent to observe fine motor coordination, scissor use, and creative manipulation skills — building hand strength and precision through playful baking scenarios.

How it works
- 1~45s
Let's start by setting up our bakery! Tell your child you're opening a bakery together and ask them what roles you should each have. Maybe your child wants to be the chef and you can be the customer. Now, let's make our pie crusts. Show your child how to roll the playdough flat using a rolling pin or by pressing it against the table with their palms. Watch how your child coordinates both hands — one to hold the dough steady, the other to roll. Does they apply even pressure? Can they create a relatively flat, round shape?
Watch for: Child forms intentional shapes with playdough using coordinated hand movements.
- 2~50s
Now let's make decorations for our pie! Ask your child what toppings they wants — maybe fruit strips or cheese shreds. If you have child-safe scissors, show how to cut thin strips from a rolled piece of playdough. Watch how your child holds the scissors — thumb in the small hole, fingers in the larger one. Does they open and close the blades with control? Can they cut along a line or make reasonably straight strips?
Watch for: Child uses scissors with controlled opening and closing motions to cut playdough.
- 3~40s
Time to decorate our pie! Have your child place the cut strips or other decorations onto the pie crust. Watch how they uses their fingers — does they use a pincer grasp to pick up small pieces? Can they arrange them deliberately on the crust? You might suggest creating a lattice pattern or placing 'berries' in specific spots. Notice the precision of their finger movements as they assembles the final product.
Watch for: Child places small playdough pieces with deliberate finger control and spatial awareness.
