Tall Towers I

Parent and child build towers using colored blocks, focusing on hand coordination and stacking skills. The agent coaches the parent to observe fine motor precision, color sorting ability, and collaborative building — developing spatial reasoning and manual dexterity.

What you'll need

Parent and child sitting on floor or at low table with building blocks. Blocks should be in two distinct colors (red and green ideal). Clear space for tower building. No other materials needed.

How it works

  1. 1~45s

Start by placing a few blocks between you and your child. See if your child can pick up a block and place it on another to start a tower. Watch their hands closely — does they use a deliberate, controlled movement? Does they align the blocks carefully or place them more randomly? Tell me what you notice about their stacking technique.

Watch for: Child stacks multiple blocks with controlled placement, showing ability to build towers of increasing height.

  2. 2~50s

Now let's add a color challenge. Help your child separate the green blocks from the red ones. You might say 'Let's find all the green blocks for our tower.' Watch how your child handles this task — does they sort by color accurately? Does they use a pincer grasp to pick up individual blocks? Notice if their finger movements are becoming more refined.

Watch for: Child sorts blocks by color with intentional selection, showing visual discrimination and categorization skills.

  3. 3~60s

Let's try building a tower together now. Take turns placing blocks — you add one, then your child adds one. Watch how your child handles this cooperative task. Does they wait for their turn? Does they place their block carefully so the tower doesn't fall? Notice if they shows frustration tolerance when the tower tumbles — that's an important emotional skill too!

Watch for: Child demonstrates fine motor control through careful block placement, similar to precision needed for opening/closing containers.
