How it works

  1. 1~30s

Alright, let's get started! The purpose of this activity is to identify characters within a story. Therefore we'll be exercising the linguistic developmental area, specifically literary initiation. To complete this activity, you will need a short story, crayons, and a piece of paper. Begin this activity by reading your child a short and simple story. you, watch your child closely — I'd love to hear what you notice about how they responds.

Watch for: Little One say at least one word with meaning, like saying 'hi' or 'coo' for 'cookie.'.

  2. 2~30s

Great, now let's try the next part. You're yellow just like me, me, me, me, me, that's him. Yes, I'm sorry, look at Mrs. In other words, identify the different characters of the story together. Ask him or her to try and point them out. Tell me what your child does — any reaction counts!

Watch for: Little One copy animal sounds.

  3. 3~30s

One more thing to try. Then ask him or her simple questions about the story. Now give your toddler a piece of paper and crayons and invite him or her to draw his favorite character from the story. What about his mouth? During this exercise, observe if your toddler points at five or more characters after reading a story and responds to simple and short questions. Use kine-du to stimulate growth in your child every day. How does your child handle this? What do you see?

Watch for: Little One try to say the letter T by putting their tongue behind their teeth.
