    Alright, let's get started! The purpose of this activity is to learn through imitation. Therefore, we'll be exercising the cognitive developmental area, more specifically, reasoning skills. you, watch your child closely — I'd love to hear what you notice about how they responds.

    Watch for: Little One copy everyday sounds, like a car or phone.

    Great, now let's try the next part. To complete this activity, simply explain to your toddler that you will play a new game, imitating different toys such as cars, planes and robots. You might need to go first, and have your toddler follow your lead. Tell me what your child does — any reaction counts!

    Watch for: Little One copy what caregivers do, like taking a toy phone from a purse and saying 'hello.'.

    One more thing to try. Repeat the name of the toy you are impersonating and remember to imitate its sounds as well.
