Table Tower Builders
Parent sets up a low table with building blocks on the floor nearby, encouraging child to squat down to pick up blocks and stand to place them on the table. The agent coaches the parent to observe balance transitions, weight shifting, and controlled movement between standing and squatting positions — building lower body strength and postural control.

What you'll need
Low table or stable surface at child's waist height. Building blocks scattered on floor near table. Clear, safe space for child to move between floor and table. Child should be wearing comfortable clothes that allow movement.
How it works
- 1~30s
Let's start by inviting your child to help gather blocks. Say something like 'Let's build a tower! Can you bring me a block?' Point to a block on the floor near the table. Watch closely as your child approaches the block — does they squat down to pick it up, or does they bend over while keeping legs straight? Notice how your child manages that downward movement toward the floor. Tell me what you see.
Watch for: Child squats down with bent knees and hips to pick up object from floor while maintaining balance.
- 2~35s
Now watch as your child stands back up with the block. Does they rise smoothly while holding the block, or does they need to put a hand on the table or floor for support? Once standing, observe how your child places the block on the table — can they stand steadily while using both hands to position the block, or does they need to lean against the table? Notice that moment of balance when their hands are occupied.
Watch for: Child maintains standing balance while manipulating object with hands, without needing to hold on for support.
- 3~40s
Let's encourage your child to gather a few more blocks. Watch the pattern of movements as they goes back and forth — squatting down, picking up, standing, placing. Are the transitions becoming smoother with repetition? Does your child seem more confident going from standing to squatting and back again? Pay attention to whether they needs to pause between movements or can flow through them continuously.
Watch for: Child moves smoothly between standing and squatting positions without intermediate sitting or loss of balance.
