Colorful Toy Run
Parent sets up a colorful toy retrieval game where child runs across the room to collect toys and place them in a basket. The agent coaches the parent to observe running confidence on different surfaces, directional control, and color recognition attempts — building gross motor coordination and early color awareness through active play.

What you'll need
Clear running space (carpet, hard floor, or safe outdoor area). Basket or container placed 10-15 feet away. 3-5 colorful toys gathered with child on opposite side from basket. Ensure floor surface is safe for running.
How it works
- 1~30s
Start by showing your child the colorful toys. Pick up one toy and say 'Look, your child, a red ball!' or whatever color it is. Then say 'Let's run it to the basket!' and demonstrate — run with the toy to the basket, drop it in with enthusiasm, and run back. Now invite your child to try. Hand them a different colored toy and encourage them to run to the basket. Watch how your child runs — does they move with confidence, keeping balance? Or does they seem wobbly or hesitant on this surface?
Watch for: Child runs with steady balance and confidence on the current surface, showing coordinated limb movement.
- 2~35s
Now let's make it a bit more challenging. Place two toys of different colors a few feet apart from each other, both about halfway to the basket. Ask your child to run and pick up the blue toy first, then continue to the basket. Watch how your child manages direction changes — does they slow down to change course? Can they maintain running while veering toward the correct toy? This shows developing directional control.
Watch for: Child adjusts running path intentionally to reach specific targets, showing directional control.
- 3~40s
Let's focus on the color learning aspect now. Place three different colored toys around the running area. Ask your child to find and bring you the 'red toy' (use whatever color is most distinct). Watch how your child responds — does they look at multiple toys before choosing? Does they recognize the color name or just grab any toy? Even if they doesn't get it right, notice if they seems to be thinking about color differences.
Watch for: Child shows awareness of color differences through looking, comparing, or attempting to match color names.
