How it works

  1. 1~30s

Alright, let's get started! To complete this activity, place one of your baby's toys on a small stool beside you and get your baby's attention. you, watch your child closely — I'd love to hear what you notice about how they responds.

Watch for: Baby goe from sitting to standing with the aid of a large object, like furniture.

  2. 2~30s

Great, now let's try the next part. The toy should be just out of your baby's reach so that she has to stand up to grab it. Tell me what your child does — any reaction counts!

Watch for: Baby move from sitting to being on their knees.

  3. 3~30s

One more thing to try. Your baby should first crawl towards the stool, lean on it by kneeling and then stand up in order to reach the toy. Assist her if she needs help and then praise her when she's able to do it alone. During this exercise, observe if your baby kneels, raise as one leg and stands up supporting herself with furniture. How does your child handle this? What do you see?
