How it works

  1. 1~30s

    Alright, let's get started! To complete this activity, place a toy out of your baby's reach and stand or sit near her but not facing her. you, watch your child closely — I'd love to hear what you notice about how they responds.

    Watch for: Baby interact with people they are familiar with by smiling and/or talking.

  2. 2~30s

    Great, now let's try the next part. Wait for your baby to attempt to take the toy but not reach it. Tell me what your child does — any reaction counts!

    Watch for: Baby lift their arms to be carried.

  3. 3~30s

    One more thing to try. See if she tries to get your attention so that you help her or if you need to continue working on it. Following this activity, also observe if your baby points at what she wants. How does your child handle this? What do you see?

    Watch for: Baby show preference for certain people.
