How it works
- 1~30s
Alright, let's get started! For this activity, you can use a baby Einstein toy, like the Take-A-Long-June's musical toy. Begin this activity by lying down on the floor and placing your little one next to you. Have your baby place their knees on the floor and their hands over your stomach or legs, almost leaning over you. you, watch your child closely — I'd love to hear what you notice about how they responds.
Watch for: Baby get into a crawling position on hands and knees.
- 2~30s
Great, now let's try the next part. Place the toy on the other side so that your little one needs to crawl over you to reach it. Encourage your baby to try this by moving and naming the object. Remember to praise their efforts along the way. Tell me what your child does — any reaction counts!
Watch for: Baby drag to get something they want.
- 3~30s
One more thing to try. See if your little one is looking at you for help or feedback while trying this. If you notice this is too difficult for them, you can help your baby by pushing their legs and buttocks carefully. If this is too easy, you can try placing the object further away. How does your child handle this? What do you see?
Watch for: Baby roll or moves around to go where they want.
