This helps develop your baby's comprehension of object permanence.

How it works

  1. 1~30s

Alright, let's get started! Begin this activity by sitting down in front of your baby, and hiding an object that she likes to play with behind your back. Ask your baby where the object is, and watch her reaction. you, watch your child closely — I'd love to hear what you notice about how they responds.

Watch for: Baby search for hidden toys.

  2. 2~30s

Great, now let's try the next part. Is she looking for it? This activity will help your baby realize that objects continue existing, even if they're not in plain sight. Tell me what your child does — any reaction counts!

Watch for: Baby discover things hidden under blankets or covers.

  3. 3~30s

One more thing to try. That concept is called object permanence. During this exercise, observe if her baby is attentive towards objects that have been hidden from her, and if she searches for them. How does your child handle this? What do you see?

Watch for: Baby look for a toy that was just hidden.
