How it works

  1. 1~30s

Alright, let's get started! To complete this activity, place your baby facing up on a soft surface with his or her feet uncovered so that he or she can freely reach out and grab them. Watch if your baby brings them to his or her mouth and observes and explores them with his or her hands. you, watch your child closely — I'd love to hear what you notice about how they responds.

Watch for: Baby explore their own body using their hands.

  2. 2~30s

Great, now let's try the next part. It's okay if he or she's not able to do this. You can also try stimulating his or her limbs, massaging your child with some lotion or showing him or her objects with different textures. Tell me what your child does — any reaction counts!

Watch for: Baby reach for things they want by moving their body.

  3. 3~30s

One more thing to try. This activity will familiarize your baby with different body parts and help him or her discover his or her body. A very important part of the cognitive and physical development. How does your child handle this? What do you see?

Watch for: Baby grab objects and puts them in their mouth.
