Bedtime Foot Massage Story
Parent gives baby a gentle foot massage during bedtime routine while narrating a story about each toe, observing visual attention shifts and auditory tracking. The agent coaches the parent to notice how baby shifts focus between parent's face, hands, and voice — building sensory integration, body awareness, and language foundations through calming touch.

What you'll need
Baby should be calm and alert after bath time, lying comfortably on parent's lap or a soft surface. Room should be dimly lit for bedtime atmosphere. Parent's hands should be warm and clean.
How it works
- 1~30s
Start by gently holding your child's foot in your hands. Give a soft, slow massage to the sole — using your thumbs in circular motions. As you begin, watch your child's face closely. Does they look at your hands working on their foot? Or does they look up at your face? Tell me where your child is focusing their attention.
Watch for: Baby shifts visual focus between parent's face and parent's hands during the massage.
- 2~40s
Now let's add the storytelling part. As you massage each little toe, softly narrate a simple story about it. For example: 'This little toe loves to wiggle... and this little toe learned to kick!' Use a calm, rhythmic voice. Watch your child's eyes — when you speak, does they look toward your face? Does their gaze follow the sound of your voice?
Watch for: Baby turns or shifts gaze toward parent's face when parent speaks during the massage.
- 3~30s
For our last observation, hold your child's foot at arm's length — about the distance you'd hold a book to read. Continue massaging gently while maintaining eye contact. Can your child keep looking at your face from this distance? Or does they look back at their foot? Notice if your child can sustain focus on you even when the touch is farther away.
Watch for: Baby maintains visual focus on parent's face when parent is at arm's length during the massage.
