Discovering Myself
Parent places baby on a supportive pillow facing up, with hands and feet uncovered. The agent guides the parent to observe how baby explores their own body — bringing hands to mouth, staring at fingers, and reaching for feet. This activity builds early body awareness, hand regard, and self-exploration skills.

What you'll need
Baby lying face up on a boppy pillow or supportive cushion. Hands and feet should be bare and free to move. Room should be comfortable and free of distractions.
How it works
- 1~30s
Now watch your child's hands. Does they bring them up in front of their face? Many babies at this age start to stare at their own fingers — it's one of the first signs of self-awareness! Give your child a moment. Does they seem to notice their own hands? Maybe they is opening and closing their fingers or just gazing at them. Tell me what you see.
Watch for: Baby brings hands into view and stares at them, showing early self-awareness and visual attention.
- 2~30s
Now let's see if your child brings their hands to their mouth. Mouthing is one of the most important ways babies learn about the world at this age. Watch closely — does your child bring a fist or fingers to their lips? It might look like sucking or just gentle touching. Tell me what's happening.
Watch for: Baby brings hands to mouth to explore, demonstrating oral-tactile learning.
- 3~35s
Now let's encourage your child to discover their feet! Gently stroke their legs to draw their attention downward. Does your child look toward their feet? Can they reach for them? Some babies at this age can grab their toes — it's such a fun milestone! If your child doesn't reach for the feet just yet, that's perfectly fine. What do you see?
Watch for: Baby reaches toward or grabs own feet, demonstrating body awareness and coordination.
