Sensory Massage
Parent gives baby a gentle full-body massage using baby oil or lotion, observing how baby responds to different touches. The agent coaches the parent to notice tactile awareness, muscle relaxation, and body position responses — building early sensory processing and bonding.

What you'll need
Baby lying on back on a soft surface, alert and calm. Room should be warm. Have baby oil or lotion within reach. Baby can be undressed or in a diaper.
How it works
- 1~30s
Start by warming some oil or lotion in your hands. Now gently place your hands on your child's chest and slowly stroke outward toward their arms. Watch their face closely — does your child seem to notice the touch? You might see a change in expression, a little sigh, or their body relaxing. Tell me what you notice.
Watch for: Baby shows a positive response to gentle touch — relaxing, smiling, cooing, or turning toward the parent's hands.
- 2~40s
Now let's move to your child's legs and feet. Gently stroke from their thighs down to the toes, then give each little toe a gentle squeeze. Next try their arms — from shoulders to fingertips. Notice if your child responds differently to different body areas. Does they seem to prefer certain areas? Does they pull away from any spots?
Watch for: Baby shows differentiated responses to touch on different body parts, indicating developing body awareness.
- 3~30s
Let's gently turn your child onto their tummy now. Massage their back with slow, gentle strokes from shoulders to bottom. While they is on their tummy, watch to see if your child tries to lift their head at all — even briefly. The massage can actually help relax the muscles and make tummy time more comfortable. What do you see?
Watch for: While on tummy during massage, baby attempts to lift head briefly.
