Draw and Write
Parent observes early writing milestones: drawing a square without a model, copying a triangle, copying capital letters, and printing first name. Covers four fine-motor and early literacy milestones at 46-56mo.

What you'll need
Paper on table, pencil ready. Parent draws models on a separate piece of paper when needed.
How it works
- 1~90s
Two shape tests. First: without drawing a model, ask your child: 'Can you draw a square?' — just from memory, no example. Watch whether all four sides are present and whether corners are recognizable. Second: draw a triangle on a separate piece of paper and show it. Ask your child: 'Can you copy this?' Watch the result. Tell me both.
Watch for: Child draws a square without needing to see a model
- 2~90s
Two writing tests. First: write a capital letter on a piece of paper — try A, B, T, or H — and ask your child to copy it. Does your child produce a recognizable version? Try 2-3 different letters. Second: ask your child: 'Can you write your name?' — no model, just from memory. What happens? Tell me both.
Watch for: Child copies some capital letters
