What you'll need

No materials needed. Find a comfortable spot together. Let your child know this is a game where everyone makes up parts of a story.

How it works

  1. 1~30s

Okay, here we go! Once upon a time, there was a little fox who found a sparkly key on the ground. The fox picked it up and said, 'I wonder what this opens!' Now it's your child's turn — your child, what do you think the fox did next?

Watch for: Child contributes a story continuation that connects to the previous event

  2. 2~35s

Love it! Now, can you add a sentence to the story too? And then let's see — your child, after that, what happened when the fox got there? Did the fox meet anyone? Did something surprising happen?

Watch for: Child uses descriptive or varied vocabulary when continuing the story

  3. 3~35s

Okay, this story is getting really good! Now here's a fun challenge. Can you ask your child this for me: 'your child, the fox needs to solve a problem now. What's the problem, and how does the fox fix it?' Let me know what they comes up with!

Watch for: Child creates a problem-solution narrative arc

  4. 4~30s

We need a grand finale! your child, how does the story end? Does the fox live happily ever after, or maybe something funny happens? Tell us the ending!

Watch for: Child provides a story ending that gives closure
