How it works

  1. 1

First, let's create our story characters. Choose three objects—like this spoon, cup, and box—and give them names and simple roles. For example, 'Spoon Sally wants to visit Cup Castle.' Help your child decide who's who.

  2. 2

Now, let's act out a simple story. Use the blanket as a 'bridge.' Sally the Spoon wants to cross the bridge to visit the Cup Castle, but the box is blocking the way. Help your child move the objects to show what happens.

  3. 3

Now let's talk about what happened. Ask your child, 'What did Sally do first? What happened next? How did the story end?'

  4. 4

Last, let's find the meaning. Ask your child, 'How did Sally feel when she couldn't cross? How did she feel at the end? Why?'
