How it works

    Let's start by just looking at the water. Say, 'your child, let's look at the water in the bowl. What do you see?'

  2. 2

    Now, let's drop one item into the water. Hand your child the cork and say, 'What do you think will happen if we put this in the water?'

  3. 3

    After dropping the cork, say, 'Look! It's floating. Why do you think it floats?'

  4. 4

    Now, let's try the coin. Say, 'What about this coin? Will it float or sink?' After dropping it, ask, 'What did you notice?'
