Kindness Cafe
A pretend play activity where {child_name} practices showing care and respect for others' feelings and needs through role-playing as a thoughtful server at a cafe.

How it works

Let's start by setting up our Kindness Cafe. Help your child lay out the blanket as our table and arrange the stuffed animals as customers. Ask your child to think about how to make the customers feel welcome.

Now let's practice taking orders. Ask your child to approach each customer, make eye contact, and ask what they'd like today. Encourage your child to listen carefully to each request.

Now have your child serve the food and drinks. Encourage them to think about how to serve carefully - maybe asking if the temperature is okay or if they need anything else.

Let's have your child notice that one customer seems sad or has a special need. Maybe the bear dropped their spoon or the doll looks lonely. Ask your child how they could show extra kindness.
