How it works

  1. 1

First, show your child the mystery box. Say: 'This box has secret treasures inside! You can only use your hands to explore through this hole. Your mission is to figure out what's hiding in here. Ready to be a detective?'

  2. 2

Now encourage your child to explore the first object. Say: 'Take your time feeling all around. Is it hard or soft? Big or small? What shape does it feel like? Don't worry if you're not sure yet - good detectives keep investigating!'

  3. 3

After your child makes a guess (right or wrong), say: 'Great detective work! Whether you're right or wrong, what matters is you kept exploring. Let's check together!' Then reveal the object. 'Now let's try another one! Remember: good detectives don't give up.'

  4. 4

For the next object, say: 'This one might be trickier! Remember to use what you learned from the last object. Feel all around, take your time. What questions can you ask yourself as you explore?'
