How it works

  1. 1

First, let's set up our sorting stations. We have three boxes. Can you help your child label them? One for paper, one for plastic, and one for 'other' items. Use stickers or draw symbols together.

  2. 2

Now let's look at our items. Hold up the empty plastic bottle. Ask your child: 'Where should this go? Does it help the earth if we put it in the right box?'

  3. 3

Now let's try the paper scrap. Ask your child: 'What happens if paper goes in the wrong place? How does putting it in the right box help trees and animals?'

  4. 4

Let's sort the remaining items together. As you place each one, ask your child: 'How does being a good sorter make you a helper for our Earth?'
