What you'll need

Find a small basket or container for collecting, and create a simple target using a towel, blanket, or draw a circle with chalk on pavement. No special equipment needed!

How it works

  1. 1~30s

First, let's go on a nature treasure hunt! Say to your child: 'Let's find 5 special nature treasures together - like pinecones, smooth stones, or fallen leaves. We'll use them for our tossing game!' Walk around your outdoor space and help them collect.

Watch for: Watch how your child searches for and selects natural items

  2. 2~30s

Now let's set up our tossing target! Place your towel, blanket, or draw a circle. Say: 'This is our special target. Let's stand about three big steps away. Watch how I hold our nature treasure and toss it underhand toward the target.' Demonstrate a gentle underhand toss.

Watch for: Watch how your child holds and releases the natural item when tossing toward the target

  3. 3~30s

Now let's add some fun variations! Say: 'Let's try something different. Can you toss the pinecone and make a soft landing? Now try the stone - does it feel different to toss?' Encourage experimenting with different items and distances.

Watch for: Watch how your child adjusts their toss for different items and challenges
